Caption title: Hic est de horn bono milite
The author calls himself "Mestre Thomas", and by many is identified with Thomas, author of the Anglo-Norman Tristan. But W. Söderhjelm (in Romania XV) and Gröber (Grundriss d. rom. philol.) consider the latter much earlier. See also R. Brede "Ueber die handschriften der Chanson de Horn" in the same series, hft. IV
